Taste and aromatic profile

Tai Ping Hou Kui is famous for its delicate, fresh and persistent orchid scent. In addition to this floral note, you can perceive light fruity hints and, sometimes, a light sweet chestnut aroma. After infusion, the aroma becomes more intense and complex, releasing both in the liquor and on the lid of the cup. The infusion has a soft and sweet flavor, with a full body and a silky texture. In the mouth it is fresh and lively, with an initial sweetness that gives way to a persistent and pleasantly refreshing aftertaste. It is not bitter or astringent, but perfectly balances the typical freshness of green teas with a unique roundness.

Tai Ping Hou Kui originates from the Tai Ping region (now Huangshan District) in Anhui Province, southeastern China. This area, located at the foot of Mount Huangshan, is renowned for producing top-quality green tea.

🌿 An Ideal Environment for Tea
• High altitude (300-700 m): The mountain climate, with frequent fog and moderate sunlight, favors the growth of tea leaves.
• Mineral-rich soil: helps intensify the aroma and flavor of the tea.
• Temperate climate and abundant rainfall: create perfect conditions for the development of a sweet and delicate tea.

🍃 A Tradition of Quality
• Tai Ping Hou Kui is produced with a large-leaf tea variety, which gives the leaves their typical flat, elongated shape and characteristic deep green colour.
• Harvesting and processing are done by hand, following traditional methods that preserve the authentic flavour of the tea.
• Thanks to the combination of unique natural environment and refined craftsmanship, Tai Ping Hou Kui is recognized as one of the “Ten Great Teas of China” and is highly regarded by tea connoisseurs around the world.

It is recommended to use a glass cup or gaiwan, keeping the water temperature between 80-85°C. Take 5 grams of Enshi Yulu green tea and proceed with a rinse: soak for 5 seconds and then pour away the water to awaken the aroma of the tea. The first infusion should last 1 minute, with the possibility of gradually extending the infusion times according to personal taste. Typically, it is possible to infuse 3 to 5 times, maintaining the rich and distinctive aroma and flavor.

For the Western method, use a teapot: take 3 grams of Enshi Yulu green tea, add 85°C water and infuse for 2-3 minutes. The infusion can be poured directly into the cup and sugar or lemon can be added to taste, making it suitable for various consumption occasions, such as afternoon tea or moments of relaxation.

Traditional Infusion Method

For Chinese infusion, it is recommended to use a glass cup or gaiwan, with water at a temperature of 80-85°C. Use 3-5 grams of Longjing tea, infusing for 1-2 minutes in the first infusion. According to personal taste, the infusion time can be gradually increased in subsequent infusions, up to a maximum of 3-4 infusions, maintaining the rich aroma and flavor.

Western Infusion Method

For the European infusion, you can use a teapot: add 2-3 grams of Longjing tea to 90°C water and leave to infuse for 2-3 minutes. The tea can be served directly in the cup, and is suitable for being sweetened with cane sugar or flavored with lemon, perfect for daily consumption or to share with friends.

Cold Infusion Method

Put 5 grams of Longjing tea in 500 ml of cold water and leave in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours. Cold brewing produces a fresh and sweet tea, preserving the characteristic Longjing aroma, ideal for hot summer days. This method reduces the bitterness of the tea, making its flavor more delicate and suitable for all lovers of tea drinks.
