Historical context:

Pu-erh tea has long been a prized offering along the ancient Tea and Horse Road, especially enjoyed in southwest China. Its uniqueness lies in the post-fermentation process, through which the leaves mature naturally in a suitable environment, becoming more aromatic and complex over time. The 2021 Aged Pu-erh Mini Cake inherits this ancient craftsmanship, pressed into small portions for ease of transport and storage, making it ideal for both daily consumption and collection.

Origin:

This mini matured Pu'erh cake comes from the high mountains of Xishuangbanna in Yunnan, which is characterized by fertile soils and a high altitude, where tea plants grow in a subtropical environment. With its hot and humid climate and large temperature variations between day and night, Xishuangbanna is recognized as the origin area of high-quality Pu'erh teas, which benefit from a unique flavor profile and strong aging potential.

Harvest season:

This tea is made with the first young leaves harvested in the spring of 2021, to ensure a high content of polyphenols and other nutrients. The spring leaves are delicate and rich in aroma, thus forming the ideal base for the intense and full-bodied taste of Pu'er tea.

Chinese Preparation:

1. Use 5g of tea in a gaiwan or clay teapot, add 95-100°C water and rinse the tea for 3 seconds, discarding the liquor.

2. For the first infusion, steep for 10 seconds and increase by 5 seconds for each subsequent infusion.

3. It is recommended to taste each infusion to capture the different nuances of the tea that develop progressively.

Western Preparation:

1. Place 5g of tea in a 300ml teapot and add water at 95-100°C, leaving to infuse for 5 minutes.

2. Adjust the infusion time according to your taste: a shorter infusion will offer more delicate aromas, while a longer infusion will intensify the flavor.

3. Filter and pour, ideal for a relaxing and pleasant tasting.
