Historical context

Matouyan Rougui is a famous Wuyi Mountain Oolong tea in China, known for its origin in the Wuyi Mountain area, Fujian. This tea is named for its distinctive cinnamon-like aroma. Since the Qing Dynasty, it has been a tea of honor. The Matouyan production area, with its unique soil and favorable climate, has given the tea its distinctive flavor and aroma. Over the years, Matouyan Rougui has gained popularity among tea lovers, distinguished by its rich aroma and full flavor.

Place of production

Matouyan Rougui comes from the Matouyan region of Wuyi Mountain, an area characterized by a moderate altitude and mineral-rich soil. The climate here is warm and humid, with a significant temperature range between day and night, creating ideal natural conditions for tea growth. This unique environment gives Matouyan Rougui its floral and fruity aromas, making it distinctive among Oolong teas.

Harvest season

Matouyan Rougui is generally harvested between April and May, when the tea buds are fresh and tender. During spring, the climate is favorable, and the leaves are full and green, retaining the natural scent of tea. The selected leaves, after careful processing and roasting, give life to the characteristic aroma and flavor of cinnamon.
