Bai Mudan (Superior) is a tea suitable for both daily consumption and collection, providing a unique experience of flavors and aromas. Perfect for enjoying alone or as a gift to friends and family, it is a great choice for any tea lover.

Flavor and Aromatic Profile:

The 2017 Bai Mudan consists of one bud and two leaves, with the dried leaves having a natural shape, many buds, and no silver hairs. The leaves are soft and grayish-green in color. The brewed tea has a clear, bright, pale yellow liquid with a sweet, fresh flavor, accompanied by delicate floral and fruity notes. The fresh white tea is rich in amino acids and has a sweet flavor, while the aged white tea releases an intense aroma of dates and medicinal herbs, revealing a deeper, more complex flavor.

Health Benefits:

Bai Mudan is rich in antioxidants, especially flavonoids, the content of which increases significantly as the tea ages. This is one of the reasons why white tea is so popular. White tea has refreshing properties, aids digestion and improves immunity. It is recommended for daily consumption, helping to improve overall well-being. In addition, its fresh flavor helps relieve stress, offering a relaxing tasting experience.

Conservation:

According to ancient Chinese tradition, fresh white tea is considered as such only if stored for one year, while white tea can be used for medicinal purposes after three years of aging. White tea stored for seven years is considered a real treasure. Therefore, the longer it is stored, the greater its value.

BAI MUDAN (Superior)

Historical context:

Bai Mudan is one of the traditional Chinese teas, originating from the city of Fuding, Fujian province, and has a long history. Its name comes from the shape of the leaves, which resemble the white flowers of the peony. During the Qing Dynasty, this tea was highly appreciated by the imperial court for its unique aroma and delicate taste, becoming a prestigious product.

Origin:

Bai Mudan (Superior) comes from the mountainous areas of Fujian Province, China. The mild, humid climate and mineral-rich soil provide ideal conditions for growing tea. The tea plantations in the Fuding mountains, with fresh air and abundant sunlight, produce tea leaves with excellent aromas and flavors.

Manufacturing process:

The production of Bai Mudan (Superior) requires a relatively simple but very careful process. After harvesting, the tea leaves are withered, lightly rolled and dried. To maintain the natural flavor of the tea, no chemical ingredients are added, preserving the original flavor and aroma of the leaves. This process requires great care and patience to ensure that each leaf reaches the best quality.

Harvest season:

Bai Mudan (Superior) is usually harvested in spring, around the time of the Qingming festival, when the fresh shoots begin to emerge. During spring, the tea shoots are full and fresh, rich in polyphenols and amino acids. This is the best time for producing high-quality tea.

Chinese infusion method:

1. Take about 5g of tea and put it in a bowl or clay teapot, pour in 95-100°C water and quickly rinse the tea for 5 seconds, then drain it.

2. During the official infusion, the first infusion must last 10 seconds, increasing by 5 seconds for each subsequent infusion.

3. You can make multiple infusions, savoring the different nuances of flavor with each pour.

European infusion method:

1. Take 5g of tea and place it in a 300ml teapot, add water at 95-100°C and leave to infuse for 3-5 minutes.

2. Adjust the infusion time according to your taste: a short time will enhance the fresh aroma, while a longer time will lead to a more intense flavor.

3. Filter and pour into a cup, ideal for slow tasting, enjoying its natural sweetness.
